Senneiser Conversation Clear Plug - Autistic usecase
One of my autistic traits is auditory processing. My hearing is brilliant, but I struggle to understand conversation in a noisy environment. (I also don't process song lyrics either, don't take me to a musical!)
Sennheiser was bought out by Sonova (a hearing aid company, among other things) in 2021, since then they've brought out some Over-the-Counter hearing aids under the brand. In general I try to avoid noisy environments anyway, but I've had a pair of Conversation Clear Plus for about 3 months now.
They've got a lot of DSP to pull a conversation out of a very noisy environment. It does somewhere between a good and amazing job of this. The background is quite muddy and garbled, I think the best description is sounding like you're in a swimming pool with my wife talking over the PA.
I used it in France when the only restaurant in town was running a music night, and at EMF I could have a (one-way) conversation without shouting right outside the main null sector dance floor.
You don't need to look directly at a person to hear them (I don't like eye contact either!). The ANC is also excellent, general sound quality from the earphones for music is "fine". Comply foam has made them a lot more comfortable to wear.
Sennheiser have always priced to discount, they're bloody expensive headphones, but relatively cheap hearing aids...
